Spotted Weakfish

Action-packed day from the get-go! I took Jose out for a 5 Hour Inshore Fishing trip in Galveston Bay this summer. We launched from League City, TX in the early morning, ready to chase some fish. The weather was a bit iffy to start, but we knew it was supposed to clear up in the afternoon. There was a chance of strong storms, so we kept an eye on the sky as we headed out. It's always an adventure with Corks And Croakers, and this trip was no exception.

Once the stage was set, we got down to business. I showed Jose the ropes of inshore fishing, focusing on some beginner-friendly techniques. We started off with live bait fishing, which is always a solid choice in these waters. As the day progressed, we mixed it up with some popping cork action and tried our luck with soft plastic lures. The variety kept things interesting, and it was great to see Jose picking up the techniques quickly.

Our persistence paid off when Jose hooked into a nice Spotted Weakfish. It put up a good fight, measuring in at 17 inches - a respectable catch for sure. We also managed to land some Redfish, which are always a blast to catch in Galveston Bay. The fish were biting, and we had a great time working different spots around the bay. We wrapped up the trip with smiles all around, despite the threat of storms that never fully materialized.

If you're thinking about giving inshore fishing a try in Galveston Bay, our Beginner-Friendly Galveston Bay Fishing Trip is the perfect way to start. At Corks And Croakers, we specialize in getting newcomers hooked on the sport while also providing exciting trips for experienced anglers. Our 5 Hour Inshore Fishing trips are a great introduction to what the bay has to offer. You'll get hands-on experience with techniques like live bait fishing, working a popping cork, and using soft plastic lures. We target a variety of species including Redfish and Spotted Weakfish, among others. The waters around League City and Galveston Bay are teeming with fish, and summer is a prime time to get out there. Whether you're looking to learn the basics or just want a fun day on the water, we've got you covered. Don't worry about gear or know-how - we provide everything you need and tailor the experience to your skill level. So why not join us for your next fishing adventure? The bay is calling, and trust me, you don't want to miss out on the action. Give us a call at Corks And Croakers, and let's get you out on the water for some unforgettable inshore fishing in Galveston Bay.

Highlight of the day. Couple of bulls to tug on. Jeff,Haley and Matthew worked very hard in the cold. Unfortunately so much water was blown out of the bay yesterday. Couldn’t find where they were hiding. Haley started the morning with a perfect trout just under 20” followed by Jeff with a 19.5” trout. Then the ships started rolling by and muddied the water. Couple nice drum in the box but slim pickings today.

Cooler weather can bring rewarding fishing opportunities to Galveston Bay, making winter a great time to get out on the water with Corks and Croakers. This seasonal special focuses on four popular Texas coastal catches: Redfish, Speckled Trout, Black Drum, and Sheepshead. After your catch, fish cleaning is also provided, making it easier to take your fresh haul home. This special trip is available Monday through Thursday and is designed for individual anglers rather than groups.
